The impending birth of a child is such an incredibly exciting time in your life. It’s also a time when you can not wait to share the news with friends and family. Fortunately there are many creative, traditional, and beautiful ways you can announce your exciting news. A fun way to share your news is to wait for a holiday to do so. Listed below are some fun ways to let those dear to you in on your baby secret based on each holiday occasion.
Halloween
Have a couple of treat bags, all but one is filled with a special treat. (Think small piece of candy or something similar.) The last bag will contain your pregnancy announcement. You can have party guests each choose a bag to be opened with everyone or if you’re doing this with just one person, they can open the bags until they get the pregnancy test results. You can be a bit more creative and ask trivia questions to “earn” the goody bags.
Thanksgiving
At dinner or your family gathering, pass out 3 X 5 cards and some pens for everyone to write something for which they are thankful. Pass around a bowl to collect all the cards, they are done anonymously. Your card will have the pregnancy announcement in it, something to the effect of: I am thankful for the new baby that will join our family next Thanksgiving (or due date). It might take a bit for every one to realize who wrote it, since they don’t have names.
Christmas
Take your latest ultrasound photo and wrap it up as a gift. You can go a step further an actually frame it in a special ultrasound frame or a regular frame. Depending on who the gift is intended for you can customize the frame to say “I love Grandpa!” or for whomever the gift is intended.
